North Central Weekly View: No horsin’ around about these summer activities
NORTH CENTRAL, W.Va (WDTV) - This weeks North Central Weekly View is providing ideas for summer activities for kids, parents, and even those of all ages can enjoy a few of these!
Who was on the segment this week:
Meadow Green Stables - A place for anyone from age 4 to 100 can come and ride horses! They offer different camp opportunities during the summer or you can make a one time visit, but the stable is something to take advantage of year round. You can find out more here.
Horseback riding is also good for mental health, according to the owner, Jen Pugh. Many people have struggled during this pandemic and riding a horse allows you to step away from all of the stressors in your life.
Pugh’s mother, Dr. P.J. Neer has also written children’s books that provide a lesson and tips for parents/guardians and kids in each story. You can reach out to Dr. Neer about her books or for further services here.

WVU Monongalia County 4-H - Nationally, 4-H provides a lot of opportunities for children. Becca Clark, the WVU Monongalia County 4-H Extension Agent says beyond what they offer, there’s plenty to take advantage of this summer, even as we still wait out this pandemic.
For more on what the 4-H in your area is providing, Clark says to visit the website or get ahold of your county extension office.
