UPDATE: Family says man shot by deputies in Harrison County passed away
Investigators haven't confirmed the death of Codey Hardman yet as of Thursday morning, but family members are writing on social media messages that seem to confirm Codey's passing.
Eddie Hardman, Codey's father and the Mayor of Anmoore, posted a message that included the following: "I've been through a lot but this has to be one of the hardest. I haven't hurt so much in my whole life. I miss you so much Codey...until we meet again, I love you."
Again, 5 News can not confirm the messages on social media reporting Codey's death. When we contacted investigators as well as representatives at Ruby Memorial Hospital (where Hardman was listed in critical condition upon his admission) Thursday morning, we either didn't get a response or were told there was no change to report.
After the shooting occurred, deputies claimed Hardman was shot when he pulled out a pellet gun that looked very similar to an actual gun.
